The first half of the collection is comprised of vintage quilt blocks. There are 20 different blocks in 3 different sizes. The blocks have a running stitch character and the character is framed by a motif stitch pattern. The project for the quilt designs is a puffy vintage quilt. The second part of the collection is made up of hand digitized Christmas designs. They were digitized entirely by hand and are simple gorgeous. First we designed a group of jumbo applique dragonflies. We created the 10 different dragonflies using a kaleidoscope of colors; each dragonfly is digitized differently for a unique look. The jumbo applique designs are for the 6″x10″ and 7″x12″ hoop. We then created 12, 5″x7″ stitched dragonflies. There are also 4 large scenes as well as over a dozen complimentary design elements. The last of the designs we created were large swirls. You are probably wondering why all of the different designs and sizes? We created a landscape quilt using all of the different dragonflies, background elements and swirls. The project came out great and if you have never created a landscape quilt before, this is a great way to try it. The designs are light and fashionable and can be used on any type of garment. Of course, they also can be embroidered on quilts or any other item you may want to decorate your home with. The collection consists of three different themes with over a dozen designs in each theme. The first theme is cardinals perched on branches of holly berries. The project we created for this theme is a classic denim shirt with two large embroideries on the front of the Cardinal designs. Then we embellished the shirt with crystals to add some glitter! The second theme is a Gingerbread man and house. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"product-description\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eWe created the Gingerbread man, a star, bell and gingerbread house as applique designs and they are stylized to look great on garments. Then we created gold swirls with candy, stars, and Christmas lights for more design choices. We embroidered this group of designs on a denim shirt. The third theme is Santa and his reindeer. This design lines up perfectly across a denim shirt as you can see on our sample. This theme also includes small holly leaves and poinsettias that could be added to the collar or sleeve. She created a fantastic painting of a dragon flying over a mountainous valley at night and needless to say, we were all quite impressed with her effort!\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"product-description\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eLinda and I decided on batik fabrics for the project because they made a beautiful background sky effect with the mottled and tie-dyed colorations of grey and black.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"product-description\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThen it came time to do the digitizing. I decided to stipple the whole background with three different layers of thread. This creates stability for the fabric as well as a great shimmering sky when using metallic thread. When digitizing the dragon, I began with a base fabric applique. This keeps the stitch count down and gives the dragon a deep, saturated colour base. Now, all of the additional hand done layers of colours for shading and scales will really pop! I used another piece of stone coloured batik as applique base for the mountain and even more hand worked, free form stitches to texturize it with layers of color. The end result of all this work is stunning! It is not often that I get to create a really awesome piece of embroidery art!\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"product-description\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"product-description\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eYou will surely feel the same when you embroider it for yourself! This is a six block tile scene that comes in three file sizes; a small size for the 6″x10″ hoop, a medium size for the 7″x12″ hoop and a large size for the 8″x12″ hoop. This is also the first tile scene we have created that includes an embroidered border to frame the finished design. The border consists of ten different segments to surround the dragon as a framed work of art. We did it tone on tone to simulate a carved effect when viewed from a distance. The border designs each have an outline\/framing stitch so they are easy to piece together. Our artist Ginny painted this scene and the end result was stunning. When I received the painting I was overwhelmed with the amount of work that it would entail. I tacked the painting on my art wall and there it sat for a few months. Everyday I would look at it and say to myself, not today! Inspiration finally struck and I set to work on it. I decided to create a 9-block tile scene. Choosing the colors was the most difficult step; I chose a lot bright colors to make the design really pop. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"product-description\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe end result was only 29 colors, can you believe it, and the finished project looks like so much more. I decided to create the design mainly using hand-digitizing techniques. Each block took more than a day to hand-digitize. When all of the designs were finished there were more then 8,000 segments in the design. Every time I digitize a section that is called a segment. The average embroidery design has around 100 segments. My tile scenes usually have between 2,000 and 4,000. So as you can see a lot of work went into this design. I am more than pleased with the end result; I am never sure what a tile scene will look like until it is sewn together. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"product-description\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe Country Church looks like an actual painting. Whenever you look at this tile scene you will think of being on vacation. This was a fun collection to design. The Quilters Paradise collection was designed years before the concept of Mix and Match quilting was released. I took a few pieces of the art from that collection and redigitized them using a bolder bean stitch and folded fabric borders. The end result is like nothing you’ve ever seen. The folded fabric borders really compliment the designs. This is a design collection that started as a project used in our Embroidery Parties. The project turned into a collection after we saw how excited everyone got when they discovered how easy it was.
