Welcome to the first design set in our backyard birds series titled Swallows. This is a collection that can be used for either fashion or home décor, in fact, we created projects for both. The Swallows and flowers are realistically digitized with beautiful shading. There are plenty of large scenes as well as smaller flower arrangements and birds all by themselves. When I designed this collection I wanted to give you plenty of options. The large scenes that we used on the shirt and pillow are actually comprised of three different designs. The designs don't have to overlap exactly so you will have a little leeway when doing multiple hoopings. Another option I created was to design the flowers as running stitch versions. These designs look great on any garment or project but work especially well on lightweight fabrics. The following pages will show you the projects we created using the Swallows as well as some tips on the techniques we used, like using templates.
