Blackwork embroidery goes as far back as the early 1500's and was a sign of royalty. Though blackwork linens costed an immense amount then, you can have it for much, much less now! Common motifs were florals, fruits, and flourishing leaves with back-stitched outlines and intricate fill-stitches that mimic woodcuts, which we've paid homage to with this 12 design, floral collection. Each blackwork design has a sketched-style, colour version so you have more options!
