The Accessory Foot pack for 4-thread machines includes:
Beading Foot
The beading foot is a great accessory used for applying beads, sequins, pre-purchased cording, heavy yarns and ribbons. The foot will accommodate a maximum thickness of 4mm. This foot can be used on either the edge of the fabric or applied to a folded edge. Perfect for creating bridal veils and dance costumes, a must have for the creative sewer!
Blind Hem Foot
The blind hem foot gives an excellent blind hem on bulkier fabrics such as wool, fleece or thicker knit fabrics. It is not recommended for use on woven fabrics, as the stitches are too close together and become visible. This is also the foot to use when overlocking is required without cutting such as with flatlocking or rolled hem pintucks.
Elasticating Foot
2 feet in 1. This foot can be used to insert elastic as well as to insert fishing line or wire into a rolled hem, perfect for bridal veils and costumes. The elastic foot holds the elastic strip in place under the foot so it can be overlocked to the edge without pinning. The adjusting screw on top of the foot regulates the amount of tension on the elastic, therefore altering the amount of stretch in the elastic as it is stitched in place. The guide on the front of the foot can be adjusted for different elastic widths. This foot will accommodate elastic up to 2.5cm in width, and offers a really secure and accurate way of attaching elastic. Use for skirts, pants, swimwear, leotards, lingerie and so much more for a professional finish.
Insert fishing line into a rolled hem perfectly to create amazing ruffles of evening wear, scarves, bridal veils and home decor projects. Using the Elasticating foot to insert wire will allow you to create wire edge ribbons, rosettes and other millinery features that are sure to give you the wow factor.
Gathering Foot
The gathering foot is used to gather one layer of fabric and attach it to another in one step. The gathering foot works best with medium to lightweight fabrics. It gives a neat finish and saves time. Commonly used for home decorating and clothing, this foot is a must-have for creating easy decorative pillows, modern peasant skirts and frilly dresses!
Please Note: To gather a single layer of fabric, the standard/grooved foot must be used as the gathering foot will not create the desired effect – it is used to gather and attach at the same time only.
The gathering foot can also be used with a triple or wide coverstitch to gather a ruffle in from the edge of a fabric, or gathering a ruffle to ribbon etc.
Piping Foot 3mm
This foot is used to insert fine piping into projects giving a professional finish to dresses, jackets, bags, placemats, book covers and so much more! This foot can also be used to make your own piping, which is particularly useful for achieving a perfect fabric match or unique print piping. This can be created on the Enlighten using a three or four thread overlocking stitch. After inserting, the piping the cord can be removed from the piping to reveal a 3mm insertion of folded fabric.
Piping Foot 5mm
This foot is used to insert piping into projects giving a professional finish to jackets, bags, placemats, book covers and so much more! The 5mm foot has a larger channel than the 3mm foot, therefore it works with thicker cord. This foot can also be used to make your own piping, which is particularly useful for achieving a perfect fabric match or unique print piping. This can be created using a three or four thread overlocking stitch. After inserting, the piping the cord can be removed from the piping to reveal a 5mm insertion of folded fabric.
The 5mm Piping Foot can also be used to insert an exposed zip into clothing and craft projects. Perfect for zip front bags, windcheaters, skirts and dresses with an incredibly neat finish. You don't even need the correct sized zip, if the nylon zip is longer it can be cut to size once it has been overlocked into your project.
