After the success of our Christmas Trapunto project at our embroidery parties we decided to create a trapunto collection using classic quilting designs. There are over 40 different designs in this collection that use our innovative trapunto technique to create dimensional embroidery designs. We decided to use less conventional fabrics in this collection, we used stretch velvet for the base fabric and silk dupioni for the borders; the result is a truly modern quilt. Of course if you desire, you can use quilting cotton.

There are 20 different blocks that have borders and 20 without borders. You can mix the two types of blocks for a checkerboard quilt. There are also different border blocks included that you can use. The step by step tutorial will demonstrate how to create both blocks.

Each of the designs in this collection comes in 4 different sizes. This allows you to create a quilt of any size, using any hoop 5x7 or larger. This collection is also compatible with all of our other Mix & Match Quilting Collections. You can combine the blocks from this collection with Foundations, Jelly Roll, Butterflies & Bees and many more.

This collection doesn’t just come with basic square quilt blocks. There are 3 different sizes of squares, 2 different rectangles, 2 different mitered corners and 2 different triangles; each with background stitches included. With these combinations you can create hundreds of different quilts! You will see many of examples on the following pages of possible types of arrangements you can make with the Classic Trapunto collection. Make sure you also allow for seam allowances when measuring fabric.
