To create the look of falling snow in each of these unique quilt blocks, we used a fun snowflake-shaped paper punch to make dainty pieces of snowflake confetti. Once all the appliqué and embroidery steps beneath the organza are complete, you can sprinkle the little snowflakes across the surface of each quilt block. Use them sparingly for a soft, dreamy flurry, or rain them down for a snowy blizzard! Worried about washing? You can always use other materials for your snowflakes like thin gauge vinyl to ensure they’ll live up to the laundering!
The snowy weather is hardly complete without a cold front! A layer of sheer organza not only gives these quilt block an icy finish, but it also helps trap all the bits of snowy confetti in place in your blocks. The detailed bean stitches on top of the organza highlight the appliqué shapes beneath, creating the perfect winter wonderland.
